Fashion: The Gemini Press Day In Stratford

The Gemini Press Day

Two weeks ago I was invited by the lovely ladies from Gemini Woman to have an exclusive sneak peek at their Scandinavian clothing line Sandwich and its SS15 collection. Alongside other fashion bloggers, I made my way over to the idyllic town of Stratford-Upon-Avon to the wonderful Arden Hotel where the event was held.

I was very excited when the ladies from Gemini Woman reached out to me via Twitter and invited me to their Fashion Treasure Trove at the Arden Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Not only is Stratford my secret place where I find myself regularly daydreaming to live one day, it has also a magical atmosphere, traditional British houses, charming shops and of course the long literary history, that fascinate me a lot. I've eaten a few times at The Arden Hotel which was an additional reason to attend the press day. A new fashion collection introduced in charming Stratford at a stunning hotel, yes please!

Gemini is the biggest stockist of Danish brand Sandwich in the UK, which is located right on the High Street in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The brand describes itself to have an 'innovative approach' with regards to fabrics and cuts which has bagged the brand two awards by well-known industry fashion magazine Drapers as best-selling contemporary women's wear. Sandwichs' philosophy is to create pieces that can be worn everyday to cherish every moment and has a tradition to 'grow with their customers'.

This process of developing their fashion alongside their target audience is reflected in the coming collection which I would describe as mature and grown up. The pieces were dominated by blue, navy in particular, white stripes, batik prints and unicoloured styles which reminded me of the French Rivera. Most designs were classy, with clear and non-descriptive cuts and kept rather minimalistic, nothing too fancy.

Amongst the clothes displayed I found a very stylish monochrome cardigan, similar to the one which I recently bought in Berlin. This structured cotton jacket in the picture below comes £99.

The Scandinavian simplicity might not appeal to everyone, as it can be a bit boring, but in this case, Sandwich also features some stylish shopper and beach bags, sunglasses or bracelets to freshen up the SS15 outfits.

Sandwich is rather pricey in comparison to the High Street shops where I usually buy. I would place the brand on the same level as Next, East and White Stuff. The splash of colour of the SS15 collection makes me now really excited for summer with all the light fabrics and knitwear which is perfect to throw over your shoulders after a long day at the beach.

Thank you so much to the ladies from Gemini Woman for having me and for hosting a wonderful event. It was also great to see fellow bloggers, to meet new faces and to catch up with them over cupcakes and a glass of orange juice. Hope to meet you again and speak to you soon.

Thank you so much for reading today's post and I hope you'll be joining me on my next adventure. Did you attend the Gemini Press Day, too? Have you heard of the brand before and do you enjoy Scandinavian fashion?

Till next time,

  3. This looks like it was a really nice event to attend, and the clothes look lovely! I've not been into Sandwich yet so I'll have to make sure I go in and have a look around the next time I see one. Stratford Upon Avon is such a beautiful place, I've never been able to visit it in person, but it draws me like you said, because it has such a rich history. Lovely post! - Tasha
