Fashion: Style Crush Olivia Palermo

Image
How are you? Following my  Gwen Stefani Style Crush  post a while back, I saw this picture of Olivia Palermo and knew immediately that I have a similar outfit in my wardrobe and need to show you my take on her casual street style look. Here it is and I hope you'll enjoy today's post. Let me know what you think. Why Olivia's style works: Well, the art is to look casual and effortless though you've spent ages in your wardrobe putting the outfit together. The pieces individually may look a bit boring but in composition together they create an interesting look. Gold accessories and bright colours are the season's trend, therefore Olivia's style is very chic and suitable for daytime or casual after work drinks. The golden accessories are simple, but effective and the entire look doesn't need a necklace or earrings which I really like. I haven't had bright blue shoes to complement the shirt's Denim shade, but I replaced the blue with some bright ye...

Fashion: Topshop OOTD. Style Post

How are you? The weather has been magnificent and for the first time this year I wore one of my favoruite outfits. Hope you'll enjoy today's post, have fun and let me know what you think. |The Tunic: Topshop| I bought this romantic lacy tunic with harem sleeves in 2010 (Topshop Exeter) and it is very light and perfect for sunny, warm days. It is a beautiful piece which I'd like to wear more often. Can't really wear it that often in Germany as the tunic would be too eye catching. People, especially villagers, have the tendency to stare which makes it so awkward and uncomfy. But will take it with me to London in May. The bow belt is also from Topshop. |The Bag: Kate Spade| Ah, my beloved Kate Spade handbag which I shopped last December from the  Bicester Village  Designer Outlet near Oxford. This one was a particular bargain reduced from £500 to £199. I needed a small city shopper and this one has such a pretty classy design. I've worn it many times since I got it as...

Fashion: Blue Vanilla OOTD Style Post

Happy Easter to you all and I'm sorry Thursday's post had to move to today. A cold struck me down for a few days but I'm fine now and hope everyone enjoys the holidays. I don't want to keep you away too long for the Easter family fun, that's why today's post is just a quick style post filled with pictures. Hope you'll enjoy. The Blue Vanilla dress* (via EtailPR) was sent to me a while ago and when I first wore it, it didn't suit me at all. It literally had no tailoring and though it's a small size, it would hang like a linen sack from my shoulders (should have taken pictures, but forgotten to do so) - not very flattering! I brought it to the dress maker and she was able to fix it. She fitted the dress to my measurements and tailored it nicely. It is still a bit casual but has a lovely shape now. You can either team it up with a collarless coat or wear it on its own with some accessories. Here’s what I’m wearing: Dress: Blue Vanilla * (similar style, ...

Fashion: Dress To Impress OOTD

Recently it has happened on numerous occasions, that people around me called me 'a student' or even worse, they started to speak in child talk to me. I know I have a cute round face and look young, but I'm still in my late 20's and expect a certain level of (adult) respect. Is that too much to ask for? You may find it flattering to be regarded as young but I don't know what it is or if I'm too sensitive, but I'm really annoyed when people misjudge me due to my looks and think they can belittle me. That's why I've been a bit more aware of my styling and dressing lately. At first, I wanted to call this post 'Dress Your Age Appropriately' but then I thought, nah that sounds too much like a rant. Instead, I'd like to show you how I've mixed High Street and Designer brands to create a classy and sophisticated style and hopefully achieved to look mature. I like classy styles that look fashionable but without screaming it into your face. I l...
