Fashion: Potsdam Now. Brand Of Berlin Fashion Week. Day 3

Image
Welcome back to the final show of  Potsdam Now! Fashion , the newest addition to Berlin Fashion Week, which ended last night. Join me for a final time (please read my  Potsdam Now Day 1  post ) and admire German designs from Potsdam and Berlin. Believe it or not, I found someone at the event who knew what Wifi was and who could give me a password to sign in! So with internet access and live correspondence sorted, I was looking forward to 'Germany's Finest' which kicked off with Marco Marcu, a designer based in Potsdam. Please sit back and enjoy the show, as always reported from the Front Row :) |First Show: Marco Marcu (Potsdam)| The show opened with some very typical German designs, wild mixtures of fabrics and colour (e.g. feathers to glitter, lace over beige) that didn't really go well together and made the overall impression look tacky than sophisticated. Whilst some of the styles are on trend in Germany (picture 5, black lace dress at the front), I wouldn't wea

Fashion: Potsdam Now. Brand Of Berlin Fashion Week. Day 1

Image
Fashion-wise all eyes are on Berlin from the 20th - 22nd January, as the capital hosts Germany's biggest fashion event: The Berlin Fashion Week. The brand is sometimes mistaken with the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, which is part of Berlin Fashion Week alongside numerous other fashion events.  This year, a new one has joined the brand and was hosted in Potsdam, Berlin's little neighbor. For the very first time, the glamorous show called  Potsdam Now! Fashion  invites fashionistas, the media, bloggers and fashion lovers to the Schinkelhalle to adore and see newcomer designers - local and from Israel. |The Location| The three day event kicked off last night and I was kindly given a press pass to attend Potsdam Now at the Schinkelhalle. It is a very lovely venue, modern, with a fresh outline and a wooden ceiling, but sadly there was no public wifi, which made it hard during the evening to keep up with my media colleagues and to cover the event live. Maybe it's time to say '

Fashion: Shopping At Bicester Village Designer Outlet

Image
Just outside of Oxford lies Bicester Village, a Designer Outlet with lovely shops, neat surroundings and great savings on designer products of up to 70% of the original price. Most of my Christmas shopping was done here, as I've visited the village last February and wanted to come back ever since. Christmas shopping came in handy and I also received my full flat deposit back so it just seemed right to splash some cash and treat myself and my family to some awesome gifts.

Fashion: Dress To Impress OOTD

Image
Recently it has happened on numerous occasions, that people around me called me 'a student' or even worse, they started to speak in child talk to me. I know I have a cute round face and look young, but I'm still in my late 20's and expect a certain level of (adult) respect. Is that too much to ask for? You may find it flattering to be regarded as young but I don't know what it is or if I'm too sensitive, but I'm really annoyed when people misjudge me due to my looks and think they can belittle me. That's why I've been a bit more aware of my styling and dressing lately. At first, I wanted to call this post 'Dress Your Age Appropriately' but then I thought, nah that sounds too much like a rant. Instead, I'd like to show you how I've mixed High Street and Designer brands to create a classy and sophisticated style and hopefully achieved to look mature. I like classy styles that look fashionable but without screaming it into your face. I l

Film: Cinema Highlights In January

Image
Let's open the cinema year 2015 with some fantastic films. Hope you'll enjoy today's post and let me know which ones you've seen already or are excited about! 1. The Theory Of Everything 8/10 Eddie Redmayne was recently honoured with a Golden Globe award for his outstanding performance as Stephen Hawkings in The Theory Of Everything. Totally justified as his performance is absolutely magnificent and he embraces in his role in every single minute which makes his play so authentic and easy to watch. The epic biopic is light heartedly narrated and tells the life story of one of the greatest physics of our times. The acting is superb, though plot and characters lack some depth now and again, but the film still scores with powerful pictures and an emotional OST. 2. Foxcatcher 7/10 The intense drama centered around a former wrestling Olympian in the 80's offers excellent acting and superb camera perspectives. Calm and always spot on, the film is atmospheric but sometimes

Fashion: What To Wear Tonight Review

Image
How are you? I'm not sure if you have seen or heard about  What To Wear Tonight , a new online shop that launched just before Christmas, yet. Unfortunately, the shop closed down in 2015 but instead of deleting my review, I've decided to keep this post and show you what pieces they've send me to review. |The Ordering Process| I found out about WTWT on Twitter and they've asked me if I'd like to review their clothing range and the shopping experience on their website. Shopping is always a good idea, so before Christmas, I browsed through the collection of beautiful dresses, knitwear, coats and accessories and found an incredible magazine clutch with Vogue covers. These and cover bags were a must-have last spring and are still on trend. It was certainly time to get one myself! Part of my budget was planned on a dress, but it took me a long time to make a decision, as they were all gorgeous! A sparkly blue tube dress caught my eye straight away and I imagined myself wea

Fashion: Karma Jewellery Review

Image
I wouldn't say I'm a spiritual person, but I do believe in horoscopes, star signs and lucky charms. These lovely bracelets* which I received from Karma Jewellery will be my lucky charm to collect good Karma and hopefully attract positive energy to help me achieving my set goals in 2015. |Karma Jewellery Made In Belfast| Ever since I found Karma through a search on Twitter, I fell in love with their beautiful and stunning bracelets and bangles. Made in Belfast, a city full of history and charming character, Karma's jewellery is handcrafted and finished with either a silver or antique gold touch. The brand takes its inspiration from world travels, fashion, culture and spirituality, all values that are incorporated in every piece of the collection. So far, the range includes beautifully designed bracelets, stacks and bangles, that all come with a special meaningful token or coin. The idea behind the jewellery is 'to uplift and inspire the wearer, through symbols that empha
