Lifestyle: What's In My Handbag?

Image
List and What's In My Handbag posts are my favourite blog reads, because I'm quite nosy and I love to know what other bloggers carry around and use daily. My recent list post on  The 10 Things Why The UK Is Awesome was picked up so well that I've decided to do a handbag post next. I've been dying to do this post for a while now and I finally got around to do it. Hope you'll have fun exploring my Kate Spade shopper and its content. |Practical| 1. TomTom Sat Nav, Car Keys & License, Visconti Leather Wallet When I'm out I barely use public transport (except for London or when I go into Birmingham) and I drive a lot in Britain and Germany. A few years ago I would refuse to use sat navs, simply because I've learnt in driving school, how a good driver prepares and studies a map BEFORE he goes on a trip, which makes it easier to focus on the road and traffic. However, when I did my first massive tour around the UK in 2011, having a sat nav proved to be a massi

Fashion: Style Crush Olivia Palermo

Image
How are you? Following my  Gwen Stefani Style Crush  post a while back, I saw this picture of Olivia Palermo and knew immediately that I have a similar outfit in my wardrobe and need to show you my take on her casual street style look. Here it is and I hope you'll enjoy today's post. Let me know what you think. Why Olivia's style works: Well, the art is to look casual and effortless though you've spent ages in your wardrobe putting the outfit together. The pieces individually may look a bit boring but in composition together they create an interesting look. Gold accessories and bright colours are the season's trend, therefore Olivia's style is very chic and suitable for daytime or casual after work drinks. The golden accessories are simple, but effective and the entire look doesn't need a necklace or earrings which I really like. I haven't had bright blue shoes to complement the shirt's Denim shade, but I replaced the blue with some bright yellow ins

Fashion: Dainty Or Statement Jewellery? How You Can Rock Them Both!

Image
Dainty or statement, avid readers of my fashion, film and lifestyle blog know how much I love jewellery and that I will introduce you to a new brand occasionally. With new accessory brands popping up by the minute, I'd like to share with you two recent discoveries named  Rara De Barr  and  Orelia Jewellery .  |Statement Jewellery: Rara De Barr| Born in 2014 by two ambitious sisters, Rara De Barr first ran entirely as weekly fixed price auctions on FB. These are still run today with the addition of a website where you can find chunky statement jewellery and accessories. As statement already implies, the styles are elaborate and sumptuous without looking cheap or tacky. The Clear Plume Necklace* has a romantic touch which you may have seen in my recent style post  A Romantic Spring OOTD . This necklace can be worn on a night out or for a special occasion, it will glam up any outfit in an instant and works best with basic styles. The multi-coloured Eclipse Earrings will make a fantast

Lifestyle: Happy Birthday. Style Lingua Is Born

Image
I would lie to you if I say that everything is super awesome in my life right now. Let's put it this way, I'm no where near where I'd like to be and I feel the last five years have been a tremendous up and down for me personally. With my birthday very fast approaching, I want to make changes in my life. It needs it and I have to work a lot on my character and general presence. I'd like to start with working on my personality, putting aside my rather playful nature and become more mature (hope that makes sense). I'd like to be more stylish and classy and less teenager orientated, which I think is a major point why some people do not take me serious and still think they have a cute little girl in front of them rather than a young woman. With this in mind, I also want to incorporate all of the mentioned wishes and aims into my blog. So that's why it got a make over today. Lunch Break Adventures started out as my life saver from a dull and frustrating job in 2014. W

Fashion: Take Me To The City. OOTD Style Post

How are you? I thought it's time to go back to normal and focus on fashion again. I had today's outfit in my wardrobe for a while and it is one of many which I need to take out more. The delicate chiffon blouse from Joy is teamed up with a Union Jack clutch and soft, black shorts from Forever 21. Sunnies and ballerinas complete the look, which I think is super chic and eye catching for a shopping spree in town or coffee with the girls. Hope you'll have fun and enjoy today's ootd. Late spring is a wonderful time. The days get longer, the weather finally warmer. You can sense a tiny hint of summer in the air and for those days, which tend to be chilly in the morning, but built up a decent heat in the day, it is best to dress appropriately. With this outfit, I have combined a light blouse which is perfect for the warm weather but tights make sure I'm not freezing in the morning. These days I hardly leave the house without a good pair of shades. This accessory makes me

Lifestyle: Everyone Loves Stationery Right?

Image
Hands up if you love stationery as much as I do. With National Stationery Week (27th April - 3rd May) approaching very fast, it's a good excuse to hit the next shop and stock up on some new notepads, cute diaries, colourful pencils or text markers, don't you think? Today's post will introduce you to my favourite brands and there's also the chance for you to get your hands on some goodies too. Get excited and hope you'll enjoy! Paperblanks Paperblanks has been a favourite of mine for years. Their high quality journals and diaries come in beautiful editions and collections inspired by art and culture. Not only can you find Monet's dreamy impressionistic sea roses imprinted on the cover, first pages of world literature or delicate ornaments but also medieval manuscripts such as the Gutenberg Bible . Made of high quality and finest materials, these journals class as luxury stationery. They are stunning to look at and so, so handy. I got several journals to stir my i

Fashion: Topshop OOTD. Style Post

Image
How are you? The weather has been magnificent and for the first time this year I wore one of my favoruite outfits. Hope you'll enjoy today's post, have fun and let me know what you think. |The Tunic: Topshop| I bought this romantic lacy tunic with harem sleeves in 2010 (Topshop Exeter) and it is very light and perfect for sunny, warm days. It is a beautiful piece which I'd like to wear more often. Can't really wear it that often in Germany as the tunic would be too eye catching. People, especially villagers, have the tendency to stare which makes it so awkward and uncomfy. But will take it with me to London in May. The bow belt is also from Topshop. |The Bag: Kate Spade| Ah, my beloved Kate Spade handbag which I shopped last December from the  Bicester Village  Designer Outlet near Oxford. This one was a particular bargain reduced from £500 to £199. I needed a small city shopper and this one has such a pretty classy design. I've worn it many times since I got it as

Fashion: The Hottest Shoe Trends For SS15

How are you? I'm a UK size 7 and buying shoes is a real nightmare for me. Most of the time the shoes of my dreams aren't available - sold out, low stock, only manufactured till size 6, (shop assistant) who has size 7? - I had it all. That's why they are my least favourite fashion item to shop and I haven't been too bothered about them. However, this season this might change as there are some gorgeous styles out there which have regained my fashion interest in shoes. |Studded Pointed Flats // Valentino| A friend of mine wore a pair of studded pointed ballerinas and I was starstrucked the moment I saw them. The classy design of a ballerina with a tapered front and studs along the fine strap line made these shoes an instant eye-catcher. The ballerinas were open at the sides and made of pony hair to even more wow me completely over. SHOE MUST HAVE was all I could think of. Well, ever since I saw that pair, I've been on the hunt for some. My friend mentioned 'River I
