Fashion: Shoe Trend 2014. Pony Hair Shoes.

Image
It’s the Chinese year of the horse and most designers have at least one equestrian-inspired piece as their key style in their 2014 collections. Even our feet will experience this trend this year, as pony hair shoes are the hottest must-have this season. The combination of soft leather and delicate pony hair is an absolute on trend style, which is best to wear in summer and autumn. Designers have released gorgeous handbag collections and shoes, which are reflected in Dune's Liberal collection. The High Street retailer has proven to have a great eye for fashion trends, as the range was already released in October 2013. I've only just found out about the Liberal collection when I came across a post on another fashion blog. I absolutely love the designs and searched for some time where to get my hands on a pair, as it is mostly sold out. The collection retailed at £75 at Dune, Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis and if you are lucky, you’ll find the shoes reduced to £30-37 in

Fashion: Birmingham International Fashion Week (End)

Image
Earlier this month, I went to Birmingham Fashion Week and sat in the famous front row. I've finally found some time to write the post so here it comes. Note: this is a loooooooooong post. It was the second  Birmingham International Fashion Week  at the Banqueting Suite in Birmingham City and I went to see it. It was held on a Friday and Saturday night and it was my very first time attending an actual fashion show. With absolutely no clue what to expect, I got very excited and the evening was packed with different shows, networking sessions and competitions. Left with so many impressions, it is hard to leave out details, so I won’t spare you from any! | 6pm: Opening Champagne Reception At The Banqueting Suite Birmingham City| I arrived shortly after 6pm and alongside with a glass of champagne I received a ‘gold’ gift bag, filled with some beauty products, a fizzy drink called ‘Skinny’ and a red leather phone case by beyzacases, which is, unfortunately, too small for my Nexus, but I’

Lifestyle: Mary Berry's Millionaire Cheesecake

Image
I absolutely love cheesecake and when it comes with chocolate and soft caramel, it goes without saying that I need to try out the recipe. So when I spotted this Mary Berry's Millionaire Cheesecake in You! Magazine earlier this week, I got really excited. Not only is this a recipe by the GBBO judge, but it includes a delicious cake made out of a crunchy shortbread base, a soft cheese filling topped with a creamy caramel layer and chocolate. After work I went straight to the supermarket to get the ingredients. All I needed was some time to actually bake it, so this Saturday was perfect to spent some time in the kitchen and give this recipe a try. Hope you'll enjoy today's baking post and the step-to step instructions. |The Ingredients | For the shortbread base                                                  For the caramel butter, for greasing                                                            25g (1oz) butter 100g (4oz) plain flour

Fashion: Birmingham's Fashion Icon. The Bull Part 2

Image
Following up on my introductory post about  Birmingham's Fashion icon The Bull , I'd like to find out in today's post who is the designer behind his gorgeous outfits. Someone as famous and well known as the Bull can’t just quickly drop into the Bullring for shopping and ignore fans and admires from all over the world. Totally understandable, that the bull has his own stylist for custom-made clothes. Did you know that a winter jumper, knitted by Stitches and Hos, was made from 14kg of wool and 12 people were involved in putting the jumper on him? I was curious and interviewed talented designer  Kate Unwin , who created the recent Christmas wear and several other styles for the bull. Here’s the full interview. Q: What was your reaction when you were asked to design an outfit for the bull? K: I was initially asked to come and interview for the outfit before the Christmas bull and was offered the job. They mentioned in the interview that the Christmas bull was also on the cards

Fashion: Accessory Trend 2014. Coin Necklaces

Image
Money will literally become our main fashion companion in 2014. As seen in Madame magazine recently,  Dolce & Gabbana  are bringing back Greek style this season and invision coins as THE fashion accessory of 2014. Coins will no longer hide in our wallets and pockets but will be worn as hair jewellery, golden arm candy or sparkle as shiny necklaces around our necks. I'm delighted to see that coins as an exclusive luxury item at the designer fashion shows will soon become available to the High Street. Taking a closer look at our shops, I spotted the following fashion items: |Simple and Cheap: Primark Coin Necklace £5| |Chunky and Statement Forever 21 Coin Necklace £14.90| |New Look, £5.99 and Reborn £7.99| |Freedom At Topshop £13| What do you think of coin necklaces? Love or hate and which one would you get from the High Street?  Till next time xx CAZ xx | bloglovin  |  Twitter |

Fashion: Birmingham's Fashion Icon. The Bull Part 1

Image
This month will be focused on Birmingham as a fashion destination. I'm very busy writing on the blog post for the Fashion Week (end), so in the meantime I'd like to introduce you to Birmingham's fashion model No 1: the Bull at the Bullring. Enjoy and feel free to leave me a comment in the section below the post. The Bull at the main gateway to the Bullring in Rotunda Square is not only the UK's largest animal statute and the city's mascot; to me, ‘he’ is also the secret fashion icon of the West Midlands. Whether ‘naked’ or ‘dressed’ the Bull always makes an impression. This picture was taken last summer (2013) and shows the Bull in his own little flower garden. The year before he supported Team GB. Ever since its introduction in September 2003 by designer Laurence Broderick, the Bull has been known for having his own wardrobe filled with designer clothes and handmade garments. From woolly jumpers, to stylish leather jackets he has sported a number of outfits, which
